A violent daytime assault near one of Beverly Hills’ busiest intersections left a person hospitalized in critical condition on Friday, January 16, 2026, according to police.
The incident occurred around 12:42 p.m. near the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard. Multiple 911 callers reported seeing a suspect with a weapon attacking a victim on the sidewalk in the area.
Witnesses told officers that the suspect also used a vehicle during the assault, striking the victim before fleeing the immediate area. Police arrived within approximately two minutes and located the injured person, who was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
A containment area was quickly established, and officers were able to locate and arrest the suspect without further incident. Authorities have not yet released the identities of either the suspect or the victim, and the relationship between them remains unknown.
Crime scene tape surrounded part of the sidewalk and a white sedan parked near a tall office building as investigators processed the scene and collected evidence.
Due to the investigation, eastbound lanes of San Vicente Boulevard were temporarily closed, causing traffic delays in the area. Drivers were advised to avoid the intersection while police continued their work.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details are expected to be released as authorities determine the circumstances that led to the assault.
