The highly anticipated Wildwood air show officially debuts this September, bringing the “Thunder Over the Waves” airshow to New Jersey’s coastline for the first time. This spectacular aerial event takes place September 5-6, 2025, with spectators enjoying optimal viewing from the beach and boardwalk areas across the entire island.
The new aviation spectacle fills the void left by the Atlantic City Airshow, which was canceled in 2024 after a major act withdrew. Wildwood tourism leaders seized this opportunity to create their own world-class aviation event along the expansive beachfront.
Free Beach Access Creates Massive Viewing Area
The one-day FREE event to the general public will also offer VIP Seating upgrades and other seating options. The center of the event takes place above the ocean between Morey’s Mariner’s Landing and the surrounding beach areas, providing unparalleled viewing opportunities.
Wildwood has many unique advantages that the other shows in New Jersey do not have. One is a HUGE Beach, allowing thousands of spectators to spread out comfortably along the shoreline.
Star-Studded Performer Lineup Announced
The four-hour show lineup, with 11 headlining acts, includes military performers from the NJ Air National Guard, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, and Dover Air Force Base. Aviation enthusiasts can expect to see:
- US Army Golden Knights parachute team
- Fighter Jets Inc. MiG-17PF Jet Team performing 2-ship formations
- ACEMAKER Solo Aerobatic Demo in the T-33 Shooting Star
- Jerry Conley in the DH-115 Vampire Jet
- US Coast Guard demonstrations
- Scott Francis MXS and Patrick McAlee Xtreme Pitts aerobatic performances
Two-Day Event Schedule
The main event can be seen on Sept. 6, 2025. A practice day will be held on Sept. 5. This format allows aviation fans to witness both rehearsal flights and the full performance spectacular.
This brand-new event will transform the skies over the beach and boardwalk into a stage for military jets, aerobatic pilots, and precision flight demonstrations.
Professional Production Team
The airshow is being presented by The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority and David Schultz Airshows. The company will support over 25 different locations with their proven Professional Services in 2025, bringing extensive experience to Wildwood’s inaugural aviation event.
The debut of this Wildwood air show marks a significant addition to New Jersey’s summer entertainment calendar. With free beach access, world-class performers, and the stunning backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, aviation enthusiasts have compelling reasons to mark their calendars for this September spectacle.
